In the final Rough Draft of the year, Rochelle Whyte (director), Willoh S. Weiland (writer), Mikaela Martin (creator / performer) and Darrin Verhagen (composer / sound designer) will gleefully contemplate deadly revenge when they explore a series of dark and arresting stories connected to that theme.
The creative team – joined by guest actors Gwyneth Price and Ursula Yovich – will be revisiting a work that they first began over two years ago. Over the course of the week-long workshop they will create a new draft of the existing script and will explore ways to expand and refine their concept. An early version of the piece was performed at Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2007: now the team will examine how it might evolve into something larger and sturdier that has a life beyond the fringe.
We would like to invite you to join us at a free, one-off showing at the conclusion of the week on Saturday 12 December at 5.15pm, in The Richard Wherrett Studio at Sydney Theatre. This will be a unique opportunity to learn about the process of creative development and to witness extracts of a piece of theatre that has been fed, pruned and watered – and will hopefully grow and blossom!
Tickets are free for Rough Draft showings, but we do recommend booking in advance by calling the STC Box Office on (02) 9250 1777 or clicking here.
