Rough Draft #3 – The Nocturnal Project
The penultimate Rough Draft of 2009 is inspired by a night time expedition through Sydney. Earlier this month playwright Tommy Murphy and director Simon Stone travelled across the city on a journey that took them to locations as diverse as Sydney International Airport, RPA Hospital, the offices of the Australia First Party and a tattoo parlour in Kings Cross. During the course of their week-long creative development, Tommy, Simon and actors Wayne Blair, Kit Brookman and Deborah Kennedy will explore the dramatic possibilities of night time, drawing on the sights, sounds, smells and sensations they experienced on their night of sleeplessness in Sydney.
We would like to invite you to join us at a free, one-off showing at the conclusion of the week on Saturday 5 September at 5pm, in Wharf 2. What you see at this event will be a work-in-progress - a unique chance to delve into the creative process. Following the showing, you'll be invited to ask questions of the artists and discuss the content of the presentation.
Tickets are free for Rough Drafts, but we do recommend booking in advance by calling the STC Box Office on (02) 9250 1777 or clicking here.
