Sydney Theatre Company presents
The Wharf Revue
Pennies from Kevin
Farewell Not-so Great Depression! Put your troubles behind you, cross to the funny side of the street and dance down the road to recovery with a stimulus package of song and satire from the ever-popular Wharf Revue.
One beautiful girl - count ‘em! – and three lucky fellows back in work have pooled their one-off payments and put on a show! So slap your thighs and turn off your mobiles for:
- Kevin Potter and the Lower Chamber of Secrets
- Canberra’s Got Talent!
- The Democrats in Heaven
- Amanda Vanstone on her Roman Holiday – La Dolce Big-Eater!
- Penny “K.D.” Wong sings Constant Cave-In
- Michelle sings why her guy Obama is the new black!
Celebrating its tenth year, through bad times and worse, Sydney Theatre Company’s Wharf Revue once again bravely goes to the pointy end of the comic schtick!
Season extended due to popular demand! Final performances are at Sydney Theatre, Walsh Bay: 9 - 16 December
Reviews
Time has not wearied them or dulled the sharp spike of their satire, so it is with great pleasure Sydney welcomes back the clever chaps of the Wharf Revue for the 10th year of skewering our nation's politicians to music.... they are still as funny as ever. - The Daily Telegraph
...a glorious mixture of the witty, the savage and the inane, as we have come to expect from this great team. The sketches and lyrics are clever and cutting, the songs beautifully apt, the impersonations spot on, and there are some new gems.... rude, offensive, unfair, vicious and deliciously funny. - The Australian

Hooray - they're back. I have gathered friends together and we are looking forward to what is always one of the most enjoyable nights of the year. - Gale
The Revue was fantastic as always. All the material is so up to the minute and it is the best laugh of the year. Would not miss attending each year. - Elizabeth
I thought the show was at its strongest when it was dealing with international politics. But also loved the Wong Garrett duet. Will be back next year! - Sian
Spot on satire- loved every moment- made a special trip to Sydney to see it and will see it again when it tours to Port Mac. Chamber of Secrets, KD Wong,Brown, all wonderful. Would love another revue mid-year- not enough of it. - Karolyn
Thank you so much for such an entertaining show. Such talented writers and performers! I come every year. - Magda
Excellent. Love that topical humour with a bite, and so very clever! - Lorraine
It's a while since I saw a clever satirical revue and this lived up to the recommendation I rec'd. I'll certainly be back. I also enjoyed the Wharf Theatre complex. - Marc
Brilliantly executed, topical and VERY funny! To top off all the talent, Helen Dallimore has a great singing voice!! Looking forward to next year for another night of belly laughs. - Borgy
Another masterpiece by Jonathan, Scott & Drew. Pure, classic comedy. I enjoy the Revue so much I book to see it again at Glen Street Theatre. Helen was excellent too. Jonathan as a 'Supreme' was hilarious - what that man won't do for his 'art'. Wonderful! - Pat
The Wharf review is always a major highlight of the year for us. We now take quite a crowd to see this extremely talented crew, who each year dazzle us with their irreverent humour. This year was brilliant. We've got next years tickets already. - Lyndall
Even though I have been a season STC season ticket holder for a number of years, I think the wharf revue consistently is up there as one of the best shows each year. Although I tell my friends to go and see some of the plays each year, I always tell them to go along to the wharf revue. The 2009 wharf revue had me in tears (on several occassions). If I could only attend one show each year, this would be it. - Ian
I have to confess I am not usually moved to write comments (good or bad)on productions but this time I have to give the Wharf Revue team a huge wrap! They have surpassed themselves this year! A fantastic evening - intelligent, witty satire and clever comedy. We laughed till we cried! - Ruth
As usual, rollicking fun. I love their wit, wonderful performance skills and always the great entertainment they offer. Keep it up! - Terri
We have been going to the Wharf Review since the Tilbury days and we have loved every one. In fact this year and last year we went twice. I could have seen it again. Jonathon, Drew and Phil are enormously talented and their female cast members have all been wonderful too. - Genevieve
A thoroughly entertaining show - just ideal for this time every year. Helen Dallimore was outstanding in a team of strong performers. Her vocal strength across a range of styles was a highlight and a joy. - Robert
An absolutely brilliant and thoroughly entertaining evening. Intelligent script, brilliantly executed and a sensational performance. - Jennifer
Hilarious! Loved it! Especially the "Harry Potter" scenes. Yes, Gale I agree The Wharf Revue is always a highlight in my calendar. - Georgie
The revue was downright brilliant! The ensemble is bristling with talented people. I'll be back next year for the next one. - Carol
