A History of Everything
Text by Alexander Devriendt, Joeri Smet
In collaboration with the cast, and with
Fragments of Sum by David Eagleman

When we first encountered the brilliant Belgian theatre makers Ontroerend Goed at Sydney Festival in 2008 we were inspired to initiate a connection with the ingenious collective.

We began by presenting the adolescent anarchy that is their astounding show, Once And For All We’re Gonna Tell You Who We Are So Shut Up And Listen… before embarking on an ambitious collaborative venture with company members from both STC’s The Residents and Ontroerend Goed. In 2012, this show will finally come to fruition, premiering here at The Wharf as part of Sydney Festival before departing on a European world tour.

A History of Everything is just that. It is a history of everything from the big bang up until today. Under the direction of Ontroerend Goed Artistic Director, Alexander Devriendt, the ensemble will try to reach the vastness of the ungraspable, astronomical history of our world and universe, from their own very personal point of view.

By exploring the expansive and enormous timeline that precedes us – and will succeed us – this production invites you to treasure your place in the history of everything.

Please be advised that latecomers will not be permitted to this performance.
