In 2004 we invited 12 actors to assemble in our rehearsal room to begin work on Bertolt Brecht's Mother Courage and Her Children.

This was the beginning of their remarkable journey as the STC Actors Company. By the end of 2008 the ensemble will have completed their seventh season, Tales from the Vienna Woods, in the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House. It has been an intense and rewarding time both for the ensemble and for the audiences who have experienced those seven landmark productions.

Working as a single team located at the Wharf, the group rehearses together almost every day, bringing a natural cohesion to their interpretations of classics and new writing commissioned for them.

In 2008, become part of the journey as the Company performs in two major new commissioned works: The Serpent's Teeth by Daniel Keene and Gallipoli by Nigel Jamieson. Wonderfully, the Company will also feature in the Melbourne Theatre Company’s 2008 season with a restaging of their acclaimed production of Patrick White's The Season at Sarsaparilla, directed by Benedict Andrews.

Benedict will return later in 2008 to direct the STC Actors Company and Cate Blanchett in The War of The Roses, a landmark event of the 2009 Sydney Festival and Perth International Arts Festival.

We hope you’ll enjoy being part of this fascinating journey through 2008.
