Our Back Stage program is about letting you in behind-the-scenes to help enhance your experience of our productions. And it’s also a way for you to let us know what you think of our work.

GO BEHIND THE SCENES
Forewarned is fore armed! In the week prior to each Main Stage season, we invite you to join us at The Wharf for a Pre-Season Briefing from key creatives behind the show. During the year, a different mix of actors, directors, designers and sometimes playwrights will share insights into the productions and their artistic processes. All topped off, naturally, with a bit of Q & A and a drink on the balcony. Check each production page for the date of the relevant Pre-Season Briefing.
One night in each Main Stage season we schedule a Night with the Actors. Following the performance you’ll get to hear the cast discuss the production and negotiate some questions from the audience. Check each production page for the date of the relevant Night with the Actors.

Our Main Stage programs, available to purchase at the theatre during each season, give you background information about the playwright, the production and the creative team as well as being a great souvenir of your night out.
In December 2010, we threw open the doors of The Wharf and hosted our second Open Day. We were joined by all of the other arts companies here at Pier 4/5 including Australian Theatre for Young People, Bangarra Dance Theatre, Sydney Dance Company and Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.
If you can’t make Open Day, we offer regular guided tours of The Wharf. Call the Box Office on (02) 9250 1777 and book in for a tour led by one of our remarkable volunteers.

THERE'S MORE TO LIFE THAN THEATRE!
Each month we host free late-night live music after the show at The Wharf. Previous artists who’ve played The Wharf Sessions include Bertie Blackman, Cloud Control, Bridezilla and Red Riders. If you love live music, enjoy some of Sydney’s finest musical acts – on us. Wharf Sessions are held on Friday evenings directly after the show playing in Wharf 1 (approximately 10pm). Entry is free. Since the birth of cinema, stage and screen have routinely plundered each other for ideas and inspiration. Explore the close and creative relationship between these two great art forms at STCinema.
During the year, we regularly host screenings of films or documentaries that relate to our Main Stage productions, followed by Q & A sessions or interviews with artists. Previous STCinema events have featured Liv Ullmann, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Steven Soderbergh among our panel guests. Keep an eye on the website for STCinema announcements.
