Tusk Tusk

By Polly Stenham

Elliott, fifteen, Maggie, thirteen, and their kid brother Finn are home alone. Their mother, who suffers from mental illness, has gone AWOL and now they’re fending for themselves. All they can do is wait and hope that she will return soon. It’s not the first time she’s left them alone but this time she’s been gone longer than ever before.

Elliott and Maggie know that they need to maintain the appearance of normality. They know that if it’s discovered they are alone, they’ll inevitably be taken into care. But with their supplies of food and money rapidly diminishing, surviving and remaining undetected by authorities is an uphill struggle.
