A rehearsed reading, while not a full production, has tremendous power to transport the listener into the world of the play, feel its rhythms and be introduced to its characters.

Readings present the play in this purest of form allowing the listener to fi ll in what’s unsaid and think critically about what they’re seeing. It’s not always possible to create productions of HSC plays students are studying; however in 2012 STC Ed is offering students the opportunity to experience two HSC Drama syllabus plays read by professional actors.

The Caucasian Chalk Circle will be rehearsed prior to presentation by STC Associate Director Tom Wright. There will be an opportunity after the reading for students to discuss what they’ve just experienced with the actors.
