Unassisted Access
Wheelchair access is via the Sydney Theatre's main entrance located on Hickson Road.

Staff Assisted Access
There are some areas that assisted access by one of our staff member's is required, especially if the patron has mobility impairments. Please feel free to ask our staff for this service. The best access point for this service is located at the Cloakroom on the ground level.

Access To The Auditorium
A lift service (located at the far end the Ground Floor Foyer) operates between Ground level, Stalls level and the Dress Circle level.

Access to the Hickson Road Bistro
Entry to the Hickson Road Bistro is through the Ground Floor Foyer or via the restaurant's Hickson Rd entrance. Wheelchair access is also available through the Ground Floor Foyer.

Foyer Bar
This is located on Level 1 of the Foyer. It can be accessed by proceeding up the staircase's on the left-hand side of the Main Foyer as you enter off Hickson Rd. Wheelchair access is by proceeding up the lift on the far side of the Main Foyer to Level 1. There is also a bar on the Ground Floor of the foyer.

Assisted Listening Devices
An Induction Loop system is available at the Sydney Theatre in both the Stalls and Dress Circle. To use the loop system, ensure your hearing aid is set to the "T" switch position. For those patrons needing hearing assistance and/or do not have a hearing aid, headsets are available via the Cloakroom situated in the Ground Floor Foyer. NB The loop system is limited to certain sections of the auditorium. Please advise the Box Office of your requirements at time of ticket purchase.

Accessible Facilities
There are accessible toilets on both the Ground Floor and the Dress Circle levels of the Foyer.

Audio-described performances
Sydney Theatre in conjunction with STC present audio-described performances of specific productions throughout the year for the vision impaired. Some of these performances include a workshop and tour of the set prior to the performance, to enable the vision impaired patrons to familiarise themselves with the physical aspects of the production – including the shape of the cast!

In addition, three productions per year are professionally signed (AUSLAN Interpreted) on stage for the hearing impaired. These services are offered with specially reduced ticket prices to encourage greater access.
