A message from Artistic Director Kip Williams

Fri 30 July

With the extension of Sydney’s stay-at-home orders until 28 August, we’ve unfortunately had to cancel the full seasons of two more exceptional productions – White Pearl and The Picture of Dorian Gray.

These cancellations come with a silver lining. We’re thrilled to announce that we have programmed both White Pearl and The Picture of Dorian Gray to be restaged early next year as part of our 2022 Season. I want to extend a huge thank you to the cast, crew and creatives on all of their work preparing these plays for the stage. I can’t wait to share further details at our 2022 launch in a few months time.

As part of the extension of the stay-at-home orders, we’ve also had to cancel the first performance of A Raisin in the Sun on 28 August. We will be in touch with all affected ticket holders.

This is a challenging time for everyone across the city and I hope you are all doing ok under these difficult circumstances. We’ve come through this together before and we will once more. I am so proud of the work that STC has brought to our stages in the last year – something that didn’t seem possible at many points. I know that, with your support, we can get back to sharing theatre together as soon as possible.
