In November 2014, STC's Artistic Director, Andrew Upton, addressed The University of Sydney's Faculty of Education and Social Work.
As an Honorary Associate at the University, Andrew was invited to speak to staff and students on the topic "Disobedience: Vital to All Art". Andrew took the topic at its word and chose not to speak on disobedience. Instead, he presented a set of 20 ruminations, provocations and rhetorical cul-de-sacs dealing with everything from late capitalism to zombies. At its core, Andrew examines how our notion of time (with a past, present and future) is a defining characteristic of our species.
