December 2021

I’m writing to you just a few days after the spectacular opening night of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, joining my production of Julius Caesar as our final shows for 2021. We are so thrilled with your response to these two shows, and, indeed, having two shows on stage to close out this challenging year feels like a triumph in and of itself worth celebrating! To all of you who have joined us so far and to those still to come, thank you so much. We are delighted to have you back in our theatres with us and sharing in the incredible work of our actors, creatives, technical crews and workshops.

We’ve ended 2021 with two unique takes on iconic classics, but as we begin to look to 2022 there’s some brand new Australian work in train. Tickets to the long-awaiting Sydney premiere of Glace Chase’s hilarious and touching Triple X are flying out the door as well as tickets for Wudjang: Not the Past, our sure to be momentous co-production with Bangarra Dance Theatre and Sydney Festival. We’re also thrilled to be hosting two Rough Draft events, one this evening and one next Friday, which will see unproduced and unfinished theatre scripts get a week-long development workshop and be performed, at the end of the week, to a real live audience.

From all of us at STC, we wish you a very happy, healthy and safe holiday period and I look forward to seeing you all in a theatre foyer very soon.
