Our Thirties program is currently on hold as we address the COVID-19 health crisis.
We hope to have it back up and running again soon.
Q How much is a Thirties ticket?
A Just $30. No transaction fee.
There is a limit of 2 tickets per person per production.
Q How do I get hold of a ticket?
A The best way to snap up Thirties tickets are:
- Online via sydneytheatre.com.au/thirties, or

If you have been coming down to our Box Office, we encourage you to try buying online to sidestep the box office queue, and hopefully avoid missing out.
The Box Office will remain open for Thirties sales, but depending on demand, it is likely you’ll have better luck getting them online or via the phone.
Q When do tickets go on sale and how far in advance can they be purchased?
A Every Thursday 9am we release an allocation of tickets for the following week only. For example, on Thursday 6 August 9am we release tickets for Monday 10 to Sunday 16 August. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis and may not be purchased any further in advance than the week prior. There is a limit of 2 tickets per person per production.
Q Do you have any tips for buying Thirties?
A Thirties are sold on a first come, first served basis and always sell fast, especially for popular and sold out shows.
We encourage you to try booking online. Here's our top tips for purchasing Thirties on our website:
- Set a diary reminder – Tickets can be purchased a week in advance, so mark Thursday at 9am in your calendar for the best chance of getting tickets to suit your social diary.
- Bookmark for easy access – Bookmark the Thirties page for swifter access on Thursday mornings.
- Preparation is the key to success – It’s helpful to have your preferred performance dates ready, and some back up dates if they sell out.
- Have your log in details ready – If you need to create a new My STC account or fix up forgotten passwords, do this prior to Thursday. Log in or register for a new My STC account.

A Yes, but you should advise the Box Office of this to avoid any complications on the day.
Q How do I collect my tickets?
A At least 30 mins prior to the performance at the venue's Box Office.
Q What happened to Twenties?
A In 2013 we introduced a new ticket initiative called Suncorp Twenties. Suncorp was a Major Partner at the time and its support helped cover the cost of the ticket discount. Our five year partnership with Suncorp finished at the end of 2017, and STC continued to fund the initiative without the assistance of a sponsor as we’re proud of the program and committed to making theatre accessible to as many people as possible. In 2020 we’re updating the program to Thirties.
Q Why has price changed from $20 to $30?
A This is the first price change since the program began in 2013 and reflects the ongoing rising cost of producing quality theatre. We continue to be committed to providing opportunities helping to make theatre more affordable to more people and have introduced a number of initiatives in 2020. These initiatives include $50 preview performances, and $50 tickets for under 30s for all productions.
