Inspired by the location, energy and performances of Sydney Theatre Company, Victoria has created a series of seven chiffon banners that now cascade from the heritage beams of the Wharf walkway.
"My artwork is of a shimmering stage with flashing lights and stars sparkling in the sky. I remember it from my visit and I remember it from my dream; an archway, with clouds and rainbows inside, and a boombox. It gave me energy. It made me feel happy."
- Victoria Atkinson
During the production run of Cost of Living by Martyna Majok, the banners will be accompanied by a special installation of artwork by Victoria Atkinson at the entry of The Theatre Bar at the End of the Wharf. The exhibition encompasses the breadth of Victoria's creative practice and exemplifies her vibrant colour palette and the joyful intention of her work.
A partnership with Studio A, generously supported by Anita Belgiorno-Nettis AM.
