Exchanging your tickets

STC Productions

Please note: for productions presented by organisations other than Sydney Theatre Company, ticket exchange and refund policies are determined by the presenting company’s terms and conditions - see section below for details

We understand that your plans may change, so we offer a range of ticket exchange options. Ticket exchanges are available for most Sydney Theatre Company productions (subject to availability and some conditions).

Tickets can be exchanged for a different performance date of the same production up to 24 hours before your performance. The exchange fee is $8.95 per ticket but exchanges are free for our Season Ticket Holders as an exclusive benefit.

Please note that upgrade fees may be payable if you exchange into more expensive seats. If there is a difference on your final order amount, we can provide a credit for the amount as an STC gift voucher or you can donate the difference to STC and receive a tax-deductible receipt for the amount.

Productions Presented by Other Companies

For productions presented by organisations other than Sydney Theatre Company, ticket exchange and refund policies are determined by the presenting company’s terms and conditions.

Current external productions include:

  • Griffin Theatre Company & Andrew Henry Presents: Prima Facie

  • A-List Entertainment Presents : Kitty Flanagan: Glad Game

  • BKL, PTM, GMGP & SEG Presents: Heathers the Muscial

Refunds are not available unless the performance is cancelled or if permitted in accordance with the LPA Code of Practice for the Ticketing of Live Entertainment Events in Australia or as required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law).

Exchanges are only permitted under specific circumstances. For exchange requests, or for further information regarding refunds and exchanges for any of the productions listed above, please contact our Box Office at [email protected].

STC Online exchanges

Online exchanges are available for most Sydney Theatre Company productions (subject to availability and some conditions).
The most hassle-free way to exchange your STC tickets is through our online ticket exchanges that are confirmed on the spot.

Sign into your My STC account and go to the ‘My Shows’ tab to see a listing of your upcoming performances. Select ‘Exchange Tickets’ for your chosen performance to start.

You may exchange in person but please keep an eye on our current Box Office hours.

  • All exchanges are subject to ticket availability. Tickets cannot be exchanged for sold out productions.

  • All exchanges are subject to the terms, conditions and discretion of the presenting company.

  • Sydney Theatre Company acts as the ticketing agent for these productions: Prima Facie, Kitty Flanagan and Heathers the Musical, and all exchange requests are subject to the policies and approval of the presenting company

  • Tickets for Sydney Theatre Company presents productions can be exchanged up to 24 hours before your performance.

  • A ticket exchange fee of $8.95 per ticket may apply. Season Ticket Holders enjoy free exchanges as an exclusive benefit.

  • Tickets can be exchanged for a different performance date of the same production (subject to availability). We do not offer exchanges into a different production.

  • If you select new tickets that are more expensive, you will be charged the difference in the ticket prices.

  • Refunds are only offered for specific and unusual circumstances, such as an event cancellation. All tickets sold by STC are issued subject to the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice.

  • If you select new tickets that are cheaper than your original ones and there is a difference on your final order amount, we can provide a credit for the amount as an STC gift voucher or you can donate the difference to STC and receive a tax-deductible receipt for the amount. We do not provide partial refunds.

  • Seat Sweep tickets, promotional offers and discounted tickets cannot be exchanged.

  • If you have made a reservation at Folio or The Wharf Restaurant & Bar, you will need to contact them directly to cancel your reservation.
