We are unbelievably proud to announce that Sydney Theatre Company’s bewitching 2024 production Dracula is taking flight to London’s West End, with the great Cynthia Erivo – one the world’s most beloved and lauded performers – confirmed to play the show’s 23 characters.

Following in the footsteps of the Olivier Award-winning, Tony-nominated international sensation, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Dracula is adapted and directed by former-STC Artistic Director, recent Tony-nominee and true visionary Kip Williams. The production boldly combines cutting edge video technology with a “tour de force” (The Australian) one-actor performance.

Showered with critical and public adulation on its Sydney premiere, Dracula’s central performance was originated by the multi-talented, multi-award-winning Zahra Newman, who’s turn as pop culture's favourite blood sucker was described as “simply astonishing” (Arts Hub).

Like Dorian, Dracula is a collaboration between Williams and some of “Australia’s most in-demand artistic talents” (The Guardian), including Olivier Award-winning/Tony-nominated Set and Costume designer Marg Horwell, Tony-nominated Lighting Designer Nick Schlieper and Tony-nominated Composer and Sound Designer Clemence Williams.

Cynthia Erivo is one of the world’s most talented and iconic performers, as well as the recipient of Tony, Grammy and Emmy Awards and three Academy Award nominations, including Best Actress for her starring role in global mega-hit Wicked. After the November 2025 premiere of Wicked: For Good – set to be one of the biggest film releases in recent history – Erivo will begin the process of preparing for the February 2026 UK premier of Dracula at the Noël Coward Theatre in London’s West End.

Dracula’s West End season will be presented by longtime STC partners Michael Cassel Group and Kindred Partners, and we thank them for their tireless support and championing of great Australian theatre.

This marks another enormous moment in the history of Australian art and Sydney Theatre Company, and we wish to extend our most overjoyed congratulations to the team of wonderful creatives who created this “fundamentally spectacular” (Time Out) production.

See you soon London!
