Cassie Hamilton


Cassie is a writer and performer based on Gadigal land. Her new musical, A Transgender Woman on the Internet Crying, was awarded the APRA Professional Development Award in 2025. The work has been developed with the Hayes Theatre, Homegrown, and last year at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Her play, Animal, was shortlisted for the 2023 Griffin Award and had its premiere with Brand X in 2024. Cassie was a co-writer on the drag, road-trip musical film Satranic Panic, which premiered at SXSW in 2023 and was recently released on Shudder. Her queer farce, Daddy Developed a Pill debuted at the Kings Cross Theatre in June of 2022, before touring to Theatre Works in 2023. She is a founding member of the Trans Theatre Collective with which she dramaturged & directed No Love Songs for Lady Basses at the Old Fitz Theatre and will be directing Afterglow, by Sheanna Parker Russon at Griffin Theatre Company in 2026.
