YOUNG WHARFIES
In 2015, STC Education launched Young Wharfies, a student learning program for 20 passionate Year 11 Drama students inspired by the power and creativity of live theatre in the 21st century.
The program ran for eight successful years engaging 170 young theatre enthusiasts from a range of schools across greater Sydney. Each year, the Young Wharfies watched several productions and participated in pre-show workshops and masterclasses with industry professionals. This strengthened students' theatrical literacy and helped create a new generation of informed and active theatre audiences. You can read more about the program in the STC Magazine Online Archive.
Many Young Wharfies alumni remain connected with Sydney Theatre Company and the wider Arts industry.
